What this site is
SnowGearSetup.com publishes researched buying guidance, sizing tools and reference material for skiing, snowboarding and backcountry snow travel. It is an information site. It sells nothing directly, processes no payments, and holds no accounts. Purchases happen entirely on third-party retailer sites under those retailers' own terms.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is professional instruction, avalanche education, medical advice, or certification of any kind. The safety disclaimer sets this out in full and forms part of these terms. Two points bear repeating here.
Binding release values must be set and tested by a certified technician on a calibrated release jig. This site publishes the ISO 11088 skier code and deliberately does not publish release values, and any figure it does publish is a reference to take to a shop rather than a setting to use.
Avalanche terrain requires formal training, a current regional forecast and a trained party. Equipment described here is a minimum kit rather than a safety system, and nothing on this site substitutes for a recognised avalanche course.
